Welcome to The Biscuit Factory. One of the largest, leading independent art galleries in the UK, as well as being one of the most unique wedding venues in the North East, used for weddings and other venue hire in Newcastle. Established in 2002, we have almost two decades worth of experience in art dealership, and we were even listed in the Times as one of their Top 10 Galleries to visit.
However, we also offer private event hire in our gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne. A truly unique experience, our independent art gallery is housed in a former Victorian warehouse, which provides a stunning backdrop for a celebration with a difference. Industrial architecture and original features are complemented by contemporary art in this sprawling urban venue, and it can all be yours for your special day.
From large venue hire to small, intimate wedding venues, The Biscuit Factory has it all. We can offer a choice of rooms within the venue for ceremonies of a little as forty guests, as well as private hire of the whole venue for evening receptions of over 250. With four packages to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice, and our wedding planner, Faye, will assist you with it all!
Before your special day, you are entitled to an exclusive consultation and venue viewing, and you will also be given a personal co-ordinator to assist with your celebration, to help you discover the beauty of The Biscuit Factory wedding venue in Newcastle, and to craft your perfect celebration. This is why we are considered one of the best private hire venues in Newcastle! We are even award-winning, having been shortlisted for the 2016 Venue of the Year at the Wedding Awards, and achieving other accolades such as the Brides Up North Approved Supplier.
However, we don’t just supply venues for weddings. If you’re looking to host a corporate dinner, hold a meeting or celebrate a personal milestone, we can help to craft your perfect event for that, too. Our beautiful, contemporary art gallery includes an industrial-influenced restaurant space, rooftop garden terrace and a light-filled black canvas suite, providing a stunning backdrop for any event.
Speaking of art gallery, art is at the very heart of what we do here at The Biscuit Factory. With original art for sale, we house the art of over 200 artists every season. Our stunning gallery spaces are set over two floors, displaying a range of contemporary fine art, sculpture, original prints and jewellery, quality craftsmanship and design led homewares.
The majority of our art is available to view in our Newcastle-based art gallery, and it is also available for purchase both in the gallery and online. We aim to a make buying art an enjoyable, affordable and satisfying experience; one that is accessible for everyone, and one that you will be supported through by our friendly and expert team. We represent the work of hundreds of artists each season by hosting a rolling exhibition programme, and all of the artworks shown in The Biscuit Factory are available to purchase in gallery, with selected artist collections available to buy online if you are not based in the Newcastle area.
We endeavour to give the opportunity for any artist to showcase their work through The Biscuit Factory, and we are always happy to consider applications from new artists. A local art gallery, we are proud to support artists, whether that be through our Contemporary Young Artist Award, which is an annual opportunity for artists aged 35 years or younger to submit work for the chance to win £2000, and, along with a comprehensive press package exhibit their work at The Biscuit Factory.
It welcomes submissions for anything, including paintings, photography, original handmade prints, sculpture, glass, ceramics and textiles. Furthermore, our charity, The Biscuit Factory Foundation, aims to nurture and develop the practice and appreciation of the visual arts in the North East of England, through an engaging and varied programme of creative opportunities. It is carried out in a number of ways in our gallery, from leading on local cultural initiatives, to commissioning of local artists to provide public art.
So, whether it’s viewing or buying art, supporting artists, or hosting the celebration of a lifetime, we guarantee you a wonderful experience in our unique venue.
